Guatemala Bean Club

Guatemala Bean Club

8oz

Medium Roast | Washed Process | 1100-1200m

From the rugged volcanic slopes of La Democracia in Guatemala’s Huehuetenango region, these beans come from producer Rolando Sanchez of Finca Claima, working at 1,100-1,200 m elevation in Caturra and Catuai varieties.

Fully washed to preserve clarity, we roast this lot to a medium profile to highlight notes of dark chocolate, caramel, peach, and cashew. Each bag reflects Rolando’s 50+ years of dedication and your cup honors both his craft and the land.

about the region

Guatemalan coffee thrives in regions like Huehuetenango, Antigua, and Cobán, where towering mountains, volcanic soils, and cool high-altitude breezes create ideal growing conditions. Huehuetenango, one of the most celebrated regions, sits near the Cuchumatanes mountains and benefits from hot valley winds that protect farms from frost — allowing cherries to ripen slowly and develop rich sweetness. Many farms are small, family-run operations with generations of experience and meticulous hand-processing.

The classic Guatemalan cup is smooth, comforting, and balanced, with notes of milk chocolate, caramel, citrus, florals, gentle spice, and a round sweetness that lingers. These coffees offer a perfect harmony of comforting flavors and subtle brightness — the kind of cup that feels familiar yet exciting. The Guatemala Coffee Club highlights the best of this profile: warm, sweet, beautifully balanced coffees shaped by mountain terrain and deep tradition.
